There is good music - and then there is music that grabs a hold of you, forces you to stop everything to be in the moment, reminds you that life is beautiful…and that music is amazing.

We’ll I am fortunate enough this week that Zemmy came out of nowhere and emailed me her new song “Bleed Me Dry” and it did just that. I don’t need to tell you how talented she is, just listen. Not just to her MP3 here, but check out her myspace too.

It must be her wavelength because she just “happened to find” producer Tony White on Google who could not complement her voice and style any better. Also fitting is this sweet image of Zemmy in Maida Vale, West London from Ross Hall of the-smoke.com

Zemmy mostly hangs out in London. But a big part of her is still in Nigeria where her dad has been playing ballads around the house for her since she was a little girl. That music carries over to Zemmy and comes out in bursts of inspiration and keeps flowing any time of the day or night… “sometimes happy, sometimes sad or when she is just relaxed”.

Zemmy told me that “When I finally recorded Bleed Me Dry I was incredibly happy!”…me too.
